My blog features a lot of political commentary, and a lot of the time I come across as pretty partisan. For that reason, as well as because of general exhibitionism, I've decided to post a record of how I've voted in every municipal, provincial, and federal election since I turned eighteen (I'm leaving out Students' Union, school trustee, and health authority elections). Hopefully this will demonstrate that, while I might not heap my contempt on all parties equally, I'm not one of these guys who buys a set of political beliefs for five dollars a year from the age of eighteen on and never changes them.

A wise man once told me that life's a train ride, and only a fool stays at the first stop he likes - the wise man gets back on. Here are some of the stops I've taken (candidates who actually got elected are in italics.

Federal

In the 2008 federal election, in the riding of Fredericton, I voted for Mary-Lou Babineau of the Green Party of Canada.

In the 2006 federal election, in the riding of Edmonton-Strathcona, I voted for Cameron Wakefield of the Green Party of Canada.

In the 2004 federal election, in the riding of Edmonton-St. Albert, I voted for Conrad Bitangcol of the Green Party of Canada.
In the same election, I spoiled my ballot for the election of a Senator-in-waiting.

In the 2000 federal election, in the riding of St. Albert, I voted for Andy Jones of the (now defunct) Progressive Conservative Party of Canada.

Provincial

In the 2008 (Alberta) provincial election, in the riding of Edmonton-Strathcona, I voted for Rachel Notley of the New Democratic Party.

In the 2004 (Alberta) provincial election, in the riding of St. Albert, I voted for Travis Thompson of the New Democratic Party.

In the 2001 (Alberta) provincial election, in the riding of St. Albert, I voted for Len Bracko of the Liberal Party of Alberta.

Municipal

In the 2007 (Edmonton) municipal election, I voted for Stephen Mandel for mayor, and Ben Henderson and Hana Razga for Councillor.

In the 2004 (St. Albert) municipal election, I voted for Dave Burkhart for mayor, and Frances Badrock, Matt Boiko, Al Henry, Neil Korotash, Curtis Krenbrenk, and Bob Russell for Alderman.
In the same election, I did not vote in the plebiscite for the construction of the Multi-Purpose Leisure Centre.

In the 2001 (St. Albert) municipal election, I voted for John Shaw for mayor, and Len Bracko, Matt Boiko, Larry Dick, Al Henry, Bob Russell, and Jim Starko for aldermen.
